Home hair loss remedies for healthy hair

A person, on an average, loses anywhere between 50 to 100 strands of hair, everyday. It is when hair fall exceeds this figure that we begin to notice thinning of hair.   • Mix the white of an egg with a teaspoon of olive oil. Beat the mixture till it gains a paste-like consistency and apply to the entire scalp and hair. Rinse with cool water after 10-15 minutes. Eggs are good for the health of your hair because they are a rich source of protein, sulphur, iron, phosphorus, and these together promote excellent hair growth.
  • Squeeze out some onion juice and apply it on your scalp, leaving it in there for 10-15 minutes. Then wash it off. You can also crush a few cloves of garlic, add a little coconut oil to it and then boil it for a few minutes. Cool this down and apply over your scalp. Onion and garlic both are good sources of sulphur, which increases the production of collagen which in turn helps the hair to grow.
  • Take a teaspoon of fenugreek (methi) powder and mix it with 2 -3 teaspoons of yoghurt. Apply this pack evenly over your scalp and hair. Keep it covered with a shower cap for an hour and then wash it off. This is a great hair loss remedy, dandruff and hair loss. Fenugreek contains protein and nicotinic acid which promote hair growth. Yoghurt nourishes and conditions dry, itchy scalp.
  • Take a 3-4 hibiscus flowers, crush them and add sesame oil or coconut oil to it in order to make a fine paste. Apply this to your hair and scalp. Rinse after keeping this on your scalp for at least 30 minutes. Hibiscus nourishes hair, prevents premature graying and also helps to get rid of dandruff.
  • Extract 2 teaspoon amla (gooseberry) juice and add it to an equal quantity of lime juice. Mix well and apply to the scalp. Once it dries on your scalp, rinse using warm water. Amla is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, and is thus elixir for your hair. Eating an amla everyday or drinking amla juice is also a good practice as this fulfils the vitamin c requirements of the body.
  • Mix coriander leaves with some water and grind to make a paste. Apply this all over your scalp. Keep it on for at least 30 minutes and then rinse. It is packed with essential vitamins and proteins, which help in promoting growth of hair and combating hair fall.
